Britcom has said farewell to two long-serving members of staff, following their retirement.
Terry Jewell, who joined Britcom 25 years ago as a truck valeter, worked as the company’s site manager for many years, responsible for organising transport, managing the yard at its 14-acre Market Weighton facility – often containing more than 400 units – as well as supervising the valeting team.
Dave Wilson joined Britcom 17 years ago to drive the firm’s truck and trailer service, delivering vehicles to ports and customers across the UK. In recognition of their contribution over the years, Britcom held a gathering and presentation at its head office to mark their retirement, with their wives in attendance.
According to Britcom Jewell was often seen up a ladder cleaning vehicles, taking photos and showing great attention to detail, while Wilson was a great ambassador for the business during his travels.
Chris Urwin, Britcom joint MD alongside Paul Mercer said: “As a company, we have been very fortunate to employ Terry and Dave for such a length of time and couldn’t have wished for two more loyal and committed employees, so we hope they enjoy their well-earned retirements.”
