A new fleet of 43 Dennis Eagle refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) have started work with Biffa for its waste and recycling operations in East Sussex.
The vehicles, which are all 6×2 narrow rear steer Elite chassis with Olympus 19 bodies and Terberg OmniDEL bin lifts, will operate from depots in Hastings, Rother and Wealden. Both the bodies and bin lifts were fitted at Dennis Eagle’s Warwick factory which enabled a shorter and more efficient lead time, a single point of contact during production and a comprehensive pre-delivery Inspection.
The trucks will work on a seven-year waste and recycling contract with East Sussex Joint Waste Partnership. Maintenance will be carried out in-house but the company says it is planning on using the DennisConnect telematics system to increase efficiency.
Biffa Business Director David Maidman said: “We had a very specific requirement in the contract for narrow vehicles and the Dennis Eagle Elites came out on top. But we also have a very long and successful trading relationship with the company which made working with them an easy decision.”
