MAN Truck & Bus UK has boosted its direct truck sales team in Scotland with two major appointments.
Andrew Rennie (pictured left) has been handed the role of Area Truck Sales Manager for Scotland’s Grampian, Highlands and Islands while Calum McDonald (pictured right) is the new Truck Sales Executive for the regions of Aberdeenshire and the Scottish Highlands. Rennie’s career with MAN started in 1990 when after completing his apprenticeship he worked as an HGV mechanic at the family-owned Aberdeen-based MAN dealership, Rennie & Nicol Commercials.
In 1999 he moved into MAN Truck Sales, responsible for dedicated sales in the North East of Scotland. Between 2012 and July 2019 Rennie worked as Truck Sales Manager and Head of Truck Sales at Mercedes-Benz Caledonian Truck Sales and BLS respectively.
His new role is field based, supporting franchised dealerships Elgin Truck & Van Centre, Elgin, Morayshire as well as Norscot Truck & Van, Aberdeen. He said: “Customers constantly tell me how good the MAN range is, from the 7.5 ton TGL through to the 44 ton TGX and beyond, so when the job opportunity arose it was an easy and natural decision.
“I look forward to meeting with customers, promoting the MAN brand once more, and extolling the many values they offer. It will also be nice to meet with old colleagues across the MAN network, some I’ve known for over three decades.”
McDonald’s career in commercial vehicles started in 2014 when he joined TOM Vehicle Rental as an administration apprentice and in 2016 he joined the Truck Sales Trainee programme in the Caledonian Truck & Van Sales network. In 2017 he progressed into the role of Truck Sales Executive, a position he held until July 2019.
He added: “This is a really exciting move for me and I’m looking forward to helping the MAN truck brand gain a greater representation across the region.”
