York-based Ford fan Steve North has taken delivery of a specially-commissioned fully-fitted Transit motorhome, crafted by two of the van manufacturer’s sporting and luxury converters.
The interior fitout of the standard long-wheelbase Transit Custom was handled by Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifiers (QVM)-accredited partner Wellhouse. North also got fellow QVM-accredited partner MS-RT to adapt the Transit Custom package to campervan specification, with a full body kit and anthracite 18-inch wheels, twin exhaust system, bold graphics and MS-RT white leather seats with blue stitching and seat belts.
It includes a full kitchen, luxurious seating area, extendable roof for an attic bedroom, xenon headlights, satellite navigation, adaptive cruise control, Starlit Alcantara roof and Alcantara dashboard. The final cost of the vehicle, powered by a 2.0-litre EcoBlue 170PS diesel engine, and driven through a six-speed automatic gearbox, was £77,000.
Ford is due to launch its Transit Custom Nugget camper in the UK this autumn.
