Megan Rigby, service adviser at TruckEast Wellingborough, took the title of ‘Emerging Talent of the Year 2019’ at this year’s Northamptonshire Logistics awards.
The event, held at the Park Inn, Northampton, attracted local businesses who saw the 35 finalists compete across 12 award categories. A total of 1 in 7 people in Northamptonshire now work in the logistics sector and the emerging talent award acknowledges talented young people working within the industry that use their initiative to deliver results and positively contribute to their employers while working collaboratively with others.
Rigby, 22, who has been with TruckEast for just under four years said: “I’m so proud to have won the award and thankful to have been recognised for the work that I do, by not only TruckEast but also the customers that nominated me.” She was initially based at the Milton Keynes branch and then switched to the company’s largest site – Wellingborough – where she quickly became an integral part of the service team.
According to TruckEast, Rigby delivers the very best service to customers, collaborates with management to embed changes and shows enthusiasm and drive in all that she does. General manager, Matthew Lee added: “We see Megan as a true asset to our team.
“It is rare to see someone at such a young age take on large responsibilities and simply thrive, but that’s exactly what Megan has done. Her attention to detail, drive and passion for what she does is admirable and we couldn’t be prouder.”
