A South Wales-based tuning company is to launch a new Transit Connect conversion which uses styling and technology pioneered by Ford’s works rally team.
The van, developed, designed and built at the MS-RT factory in Pontypool, features a full plastic injection-moulded body kit including a uniquely styled front bumper, grilles, front diffuser, side skirts, rear bumper, rear diffuser and spoiler. There is also a quad stainless steel sports exhaust system, 18-inch OZ Racing alloy wheels, Michelin tyres, a carbon inlay sports steering wheel and a hand-made nappa leather and suede interior.
The conversion has been designed to pass qualified vehicle modifier (QVM) approval with Ford, which is already a key feature of the firm’s MS-RT Transit Custom, introduced in 2018. MS-RT will produce 40 launch editions for delivery in September 2019, finished in magnetic grey, with upgraded alloy wheels, unique interior, sticker pack and numbered plaque.
All MS-RT Transit Connects will come with three-year, 100,000-mile warranties. A long-wheelbase version will join the range in 2020. All versions come with LED loadspace lighting, premium infotainment pack, reversing camera, bi-xenon headlights and twin side loading doors.
Options include bronze alloy wheels, Maxhaust exhaust system, rally sticker pack, black exhaust tips and full carbon steering wheel option.
