Winsford-based Tiger Trailers is looking for another 15 individuals to join its apprentice programme in September, including people from all age groups.
Apprentices enrol on Level II (two-year) and Level III (four-year) NVQ courses in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering and attend day release courses at Warrington & Vale Royal College in Hartford. They spend four days-a-week on the shop floor in the factory developing skills in a range of disciplines including fabrication, chassis build, assembly as well as air and electrical systems.
Tiger Trailers has opened applications for candidates starting in September and applicants must be aged 16 by that month. The company is now delivering NVQ courses for 45 individuals, and all are scheduled to be offered full-time employment after their apprenticeships.
Joint Managing Director at Tiger Trailers, Steven Cartwright said: “Our apprentice programme appeals primarily to school-leavers but, increasingly, older people are looking to re-train and to embark upon new career paths, and we are very keen to engage with them.”
