Mercedes-Benz Vans UK will add stop/start as standard to the Sprinter range from its June production cycle.
The Sprinter is already Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Testing Programme (WLTP) compliant, and has been since it launched in the UK in 2018. Steve Bridge, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz Vans UK, said: “We have taken the opportunity that WLTP emissions testing gives us to further benefit customers by adding in the fuel-efficient stop/start technology across the Sprinter range.”
Meanwhile, SC Sporthomes has showed off its latest conversion, a Sprinter aimed at motorcycle, motorsport and active pastime enthusiasts (pictured). The long-bodied, high-roofed 314 CDI L3 H2 van was supplied by Dealer Rygor Commercials and then underwent transformation at SC Sporthomes’ Cwmbran production facility, to four-berth Sport Tourer specification.
It provides comfortable living accommodation behind the front seats, and a garage at the rear for transporting motorcycles. The vehicle is upholstered in soft leather and plush fabrics, and fitted with kitchen and bathroom facilities, a full-sized double bed, and seating that converts to sleep another two people.
The 143 hp engine drives through the front wheels and it includes 19-inch black alloy wheels shod with low-profile tyres, SC’s own bodykit with front air dam and side skirts, and graphic decals. SC Sporthomes has started work on another five Sport Tourers.
