Schmitz Cargobull UK has appointed Chris Gisca as its new Aftermarket Development Manager (South) to develop its range of value-added services.
Gisca, 30, was previously at Scania GB, where he was Business Development Manager for the south-west region and before this, he worked for IVECO as District Sales Manager for the midlands and south-west, providing sales and marketing support for its Daily light commercial vehicle range.
In his new role Gisca will help develop approved workshops south of Schmitz Cargobull’s UK head office in Warrington, covering half of the company’s national network of 60 branches. In addition, Gisca will support the firm’s service partners install Schmitz Cargobull’s TrailerConnect telematics system, which can be retrofitted to any brand of trailer and provides traceability of the unit, and can proactively warn operators of maintenance requirements.
Also, Gisca will provide technical support in repair and maintenance contracts, parts performance and warranty purchases for the firm which is a subsidiary company of the German-owned Schmitz Cargobull Group. Gisca will mainly be based in Bristol and report to Schmitz Cargobull UK and Ireland’s Head of Aftermarket, Steve Vincent.
He said: “Schmitz Cargobull’s service partner network is full of highly skilled engineers, which allows us to go beyond general repair and maintenance, and into more specialist services such as smart fleet upgrades. “Trailer technology is now moving at such a pace that operators don’t just want a ‘box on wheels’.
That means offering customers the high level of support they expect from a manufacturer with real industry pedigree.”
