The Volkswagen Group delivered 3.25 million vehicles from January to April this year. 848,500 models were handed over to customers in April.
“The Volkswagen Group and its brands made a pleasing start to the second quarter,” Group Board Member for Sales Christian Klingler said in Wolfsburg on Friday. “Nevertheless, global market conditions are presenting a mixed picture. While there is a downward trend on the markets in South America or in Russia, we are seeing growth in Europe and above all in the Asia-Pacific region, where we continue to outperform the overall market,” Klingler added.
In the whole of Europe, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles boosted its deliveries to customers to 104,900 lightweight commercial vehicles from January to April 2014 (previous year: 97,800; + 7.2%).
Worldwide the deliveries stood at 166,000 delivered vehicles, thus 2.4% below the level of the previous year (prior year: 170,100).
