Heathrow Truck Centre, itself acquired by Ballyvessey Holdings in 2007, has taken over the Theale & Kidlington branches of Barnes DAF from F G Barnes & Son Limited. The newly rebranded depots are to be called HTC Reading DAF and HTC Oxford DAF and join the company’s dealerships at Luton, Heathrow & Park Royal.
The business of the Shoreham and Guildford Barnes Truck & Van Businesses remain unaffected.
The Ballyvessey group now contains dealerships across the spectrum of the commercial vehicle word. The companies include Scania dealer, West Pennine, Renault Trucks dealer Coulter Van & Truck, Mercedes-Benz dealer Intercounty Truck & Van and DAF dealer Heathrow Truck a& Van. The group turned over more than £350m in 2008, showing a profit of more than £2.5m.
Related companies include CVA (Commercial Vehicle Auctions), Eurofleet and Truck & Plant, whilst the group owns Montgomery Transport and Montracon trailer manufacturers.
