Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has appointed a new director, Alex Smith, 37, who will take up the role on 1 November, replacing Simon Elliott who recently accepted a new position as Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Ireland. Bill Beadnell, Chairman of North East Truck & Van (NETV), has died aged 78. He leaves a wife, Marina, and son Kevin.
Bill was one of the original founders of NETV in 1969, when it was established as an independent service workshop. During the company’s growth he successively held the title of Sales Director, Managing Director and latterly Chairman, seeing the business grow into the large scale operation it is today.
